AEB: Russia’s new car, LCV sales jump to 147,378 units in May

MOSCOW, Jun 4 (PRIME) -- Russia’s sales of new light cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) more than doubled on the year to 147,378 units in May thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown effect in 2020, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said on Friday.

In January–May, sales rose 38.7% on the year to 663,312 units.

Sales of Lada cars of Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ also more than doubled on the year to 38,284 cars in May, and grew 53% to 160,123 vehicles in January–May
